Filomeno S. Sta. Ana III is coordinator of Action for Economic Reforms (http://www.aer.ph), a policy research and advocacy group that focuses on macroeconomic issues, specifically linking growth with poverty reduction, equity and sustainability. Filomeno's areas of interests are tax reforms, exchange rate and monetary policies, and governance and institutions. He is a columnist of BusinessWorld and has contributed papers to several volumes and journals. He edited a volume titled The State and the Market: Essays on a Socially Oriented Economy (1998). More recently, he edited a forthcoming volume on Philippine institutions and long-term prosperity.
